A DAY!
Leonardo da Vinci once stated, “In rivers, the water that you touch is the last of what has passed and the first of that which comes: so with present time.”
The Scriptures have much to say about “today” and our relationship to it. There are so many who spend their time either dwelling on the past or living only in anticipation of “special” days; living from one “special’ day to the next. It seems some never grow out of the feeling of a child who — as soon as they have opened their last Christmas present — asks, “How long ‘till the Easter Bunny comes?”
We must never forget the importance, nor the specialness, of today! Let us remember what the Psalmist wrote where we read. . .
“(24) This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 ESV)
Though the direct context of this verse relates to the coming of our Savior (vss.22-23), each new day is a gift provided by God. Therefore, we ought to realize each day we have is special because God has blessed us with it. God gives us life in daily doses so as not to overwhelm us. Today is the day we have. Today is the day God has given us. Tomorrow is not ours and yesterday has moved beyond our grasp.
Have a great TODAY PRAISING THE GIVER OF THIS GIFT!
