Diverse events and experiences dot the canvas of life’s picture. When we focus in on one dot, how can that impact on our life? If we zero in on the wicked and it appears their life seems to be going well, how may we begin to perceive our own life?
In Psalm 73, Asaph went on to state. . .
“(13) All in vain have I kept my heart clean and washed my hands in innocence. (14) For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning.” (Psalm 73:13-14 ESV)
Have such thoughts ever crossed our mind? Have we ever wondered if living a life pleasing to God is being done in vain? We look around at people who seem to be doing well as they lie, cheat, and steal. Then as we try to do the right thing in every situation we wonder if it is worth the effort. Why not just go along with the crowd?
Part of the deception of the devil is to get us to see that worldliness holds great benefit. However, how long does that benefit last? We may lose some battles in life, but the overall victory is with God. Though we may struggle seeing it at times, there is a bigger picture we need to bring into focus. As we go through life, may we be thankful for the things which continue to lift our focus toward God for His deliverance and strengthening. Let us also be thankful for a heart that can still discern right from wrong and remain committed to doing the right thing. The bigger picture is the ultimate benefit to not only ourselves, but also to those around us, and then — even beyond that — the glory to God!
Have a great day FOCUSED ON THAT WHICH IS RIGHT!
Carl
