It has been noted that life is what we make it. However, a better perspective might be that life is what we make it about! On what is our life focus centered?
Consider life in relation to the following two statements: “Live life like you will live forever, because you will.” and “Plan as though you will die tomorrow, because you might!” Though those two statements may sound like opposing perspectives, do we see how they both relate to how we choose to live today?
Between Solomon and James we ought to understand the reality of that which will and that which might be so! Both of these ought to have an impact on the manner in which we choose to live!
Solomon stated. . .
“(11) He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 ESV)
Solomon would also later express “and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:7)
And James urged. . .
“(13) Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit” — (14) yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” (James 4:13-14 ESV)
In view of these truths, is our life focus properly centered as we live out each day God provides? May we live life not trusting in tomorrow but living assured of eternity!
Have a great day TRUSTING OUR FUTURE AS IT RELATES TO GOD!
