We may often look around us and become discouraged by how much the world continues moving away from a focus on God and His Will. However, throughout the history of humanity we see again and again the choice to do one’s own thing and go one’s own way. (i.e. Genesis 6:5; Judges 17:6; Judges 21:25) Though God is not duly acknowledged, that does not mean His is unaware. (i.e. Psalm 14:2-3) It also does not mean He is unable to fulfill His purposes. (Proverbs 19:21)
Noting the example of Abraham’s faith in his letter to the church at Rome, Paul stated. . .
“(17) as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations” — in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. (18) In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” (19) He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. (20) No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, (21) fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.” (Romans 4:17-21 ESV)
God — the Creator of life — remains the sustainer of it. He has the power to even bring life where there seems to be none! It is He Who has the power to make something out of nothing; calling into existence what is not. Because of His power and wisdom above all, like Abraham, we can have hope even against hope. Life connected with God is not hopeless! Despite the passing of time, God remains able to fulfill what He has planned in accordance with His timetable. Therefore, with a focus on God, let us grow in the Abrahamic faith that did not waver even as we witness the wavering of the world tossed about by so many varied ideas. (i.e. Ephesians 4:14) Rather than allowing what is going on around us to feed our fear, may we continue looking up to God to feed our faith!
Have a great day GLORIFYING GOD BY GROWING IN FAITH!
