To make sure a stream remains pure and able to suitably enhance and sustain life, the source from which it flows must be guarded and monitored. If due diligence is not given, pollutants will find their way into the system to the detriment of those downstream. How can the logic of this be understood while failing to consider the condition of the inner workings of the heart and mind? As Jesus noted, it is the inner condition which determines what comes forth. (Matthew 12:35) When what flows is not pure, the focus needs to turn to the heart of the matter!
Solomon urged. . .
โ(23) Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.โ (Proverbs 4:23 ESV)
The New Living Translation reads. . .
โ(23) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.โ (NLT)
We must be vigilant in monitoring our heart condition. Above all else, the heart condition is to be guarded. Since the flow of our actions and words originates from the heart, the pollutants of impurity and ungodliness must be eliminated. In this way our life will feed a stream that honors God and enhances the lives of those around us. As a healthy water system requires constant monitoring, may it be so also with our heart!
Have a great day WITH A HEART OPEN TO INTENSIVE CARE!
