One of the psalmists invited. . .
“(1)Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! (2) Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! (3) For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. (4) In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. (5) The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. (6) Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” (Psalm 95:1-6 ESV)
Perhaps we are struck by how appropriate such an invitation is as we prepare to assemble this morning for worship including the elements of study, prayer, praise, and communion together. The psalmist’s invitation to come centered in a focus on the greatness and sovereignty of the One Who has made all and is over all! It is to Him we are to humble ourselves and offer up the praise of thanksgiving. What a blessed opportunity we have to share in such together!
However, is this not the appropriate manner in which to focus with each day God provides? As He brings us into each new day, we are invited to thank Him and praise Him for the life He has given and the guidance He continues to provide. Therefore, rather than viewing it as a day to fulfill our own desires, let us receive each day as His gift in which to carry out the God glorifying purposes for which He has given it. In this way, by daily bowing to His sovereignty, our daily life can be lived in a worshipful manner as a living sacrifice pleasing to Him. (Romans 12:1) Continually bearing in mind all the ways in which God has blessed us both physically and spiritually and provided us eternal hope in Christ, may that put a song in our heart as we live in praise to Him!
Have a great day ALLOWING ITS COMING TO GIVE RISE TO PRAISE!
