Some comments are worth ignoring. People may tell us things which should be allowed to go in one ear and out the other or to pass over our head. However, there are words spoken which ought to be taken in and cherished in the heart.
Solomon urged. . .
“(20) My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. (21) Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. (22) For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. (23) Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:20-23 ESV)
Jesus pointed out the thing that matters regarding purity of life is what is treasured in the heart, because it is from there the actions and words flow. (Matthew 15:18-19) What is stored up in the heart is of vital importance, for just as the physical heart pumps life through the body, what is stored in the heart of our intellect determines the spiritual quality (or lack thereof) that flows from our life. That is why we must guard the “heart with all vigilance” so our life will be properly refreshed, sustained, and will bring glory to God.
Have a great day KEEPING LIFE’S INNER SPRING PURE!
