Be! We are not some cosmic accident which has by happenstance arisen upon life’s scene, but have been brought into existence by a Divine Creator (Genesis 1:26-27) for Divine purposes (i.e. Ephesians 2:10) and so ought to be mindful of living to His glory and praise!
Be Strong! Such is a frequent exhortation due to life’s varied challenges and circumstances and is our need. However, from what source is that strength being derived?
Paul urged those at Ephesus to. . .
“(10) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” (Ephesians 6:10 ESV)
As we press on being who we were created to be, it is not to be with a reliance on our own strength, but the strength of the Lord and His might! Why? Because the powers which stand against us are not just those of a rebellious world around us, but those of the one behind that rebellion. (Romans 6:11-12) Therefore, we need the strength of the Lord and the equipping He provides (Romans 6:13-17) while continuing steadfastly in prayer (Romans 6:18) for His guidance and continued strengthening needed for standing firm in our faith! May our being find its strength and purpose in its abiding relationship with God!
