Continuing on in Psalm 119 we read. . .
“(2) Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, (3) who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!” (Psalm 119:2-3 ESV)
Obedience of the heart is an emphatic point of verse two. It remains the basis of our obedient response to God even today in turning us from having been enslaved by sin to the righteousness of God! (Romans 6:17-18) To keep from being drawn back into our former way of life or the ways of the world there is the need for wholehearted devotion to God and His Will. It is such a heart for God which serves to continue directing the life on His pathway. It is a heart for God which aids in keeping from wrong by striving to live pleasing to Him!
Though we might read many good books and then set them aside, it ought never to be so with God’s Word! It is not merely to be read but kept and applied to everyday living! When God is truly being sought with the whole heart, His Word will be taken to heart in a manner to keep directing our life on His pathway. May it remain so with us!
Have a great day WHOLEHEARTEDLY SEEKING GOD’S WILL TO REMAIN OURS!
Carl
