Continuing on in Psalm 119 we read. . .
“(4) You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. (5) Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! (6) Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.” (Psalm 119:4-6 ESV)
Diligence. When it comes to living our life in the best way possible, that is what it takes. It requires diligence in study to support a diligence in practicing what God has commanded. (i.e. 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17) Due diligence on our part is also appropriate because God’s Sovereign Will is to be taken very seriously. It is by living with a fixed focus on God’s commands that our focus for living will be properly set onward and upward. (Philippians 3:13-14 ; Colossians 3:2)
As verse five notes a yearning, let it be our prayer as well to be ever drawn to such steadfastness in keeping God’s Will. There is no shame in our hope remaining steadfast with God (i.e. Romans 5:5) or in walking in steadfast belief in Christ. (i.e. 1 Peter 2:6) May we therefore each remain one who hears and does (James 1:22) as God’s Ways become more and more our ways!
Have a great day MARKED BY DUE DILIGENCE IN DOING GOD’S WILL!
