Continuing on in Psalm 119 we read. . .
“(7) I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules. (8) I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me!” (Psalm 119:7-8 ESV)
With such a focus for life as the psalmist had noted in the previous verses (and would continue to do so throughout this psalm), why would not praise naturally arise from our heart? To truly believe in God is to seek to know His Will as we understand His commands have our highest good in mind, and to take His Word to heart so as to give rise to both obedience and appropriate life praise! Being upright in heart it should be right up our nature to praise the One Who has given us our existence (Acts 17:25 & 28) and through Christ has provided us with both abundant life now (John 14:6) and the assurance of it eternally. (John 6:68) With a heart duly praising Him, our life actions will do so as well! May God be duly praised not merely from our lips, but by the manner in which we live each day He provides!
Have a great day COMPELLED BY AN UPRIGHT HEART TO LIVE UPRIGHT BEFORE GOD TO HIS PRAISE AND GLORY!
Carl
