Money is poured into getting out information that at times is not being accepted or is simply ignored. More money is being dumped into education in our country and yet test scores in many places continue to go down. There may be many factors behind this, and I do not have the answers, but it does make clear that more money and more information does not always bring the desired results.
If information was all that is needed, I think we would be living among healthier people not only physically, but also spiritually. Remember Peter’s statement. . .
“(3) His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, (4) by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” (2 Peter 1:3-4 ESV)
We live in a world where there is the tendency of many to hear but not heed. Needed messages fall on deaf ears and lives are not changed. What is needed to change behavior is a change of heart. Habits are generally not changed for the long term unless a change of desire in the heart is brought about. The desire needs to change for the ears to hear and what is needed to be heeded. This is why the Scriptures address again and again the significance of heart condition toward God and toward others.
After noting the futility of the world’s thinking pictured as being darkened in understanding due to a hardness of heart (Ephesians 4:17-18), Paul went on to state. . .
“(20) But that is not the way you learned Christ! — (21) assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, (22) to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, (23) and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, (24) and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:20-24 ESV)
As the changed life begins within, may our focus remain fixed on Jesus as we continue in the development of a heart for the Father’s Will and for Him to be glorified in every aspect of our life!
Have a great day EXEMPLIFYING THE POWER OF THE CHANGED HEART!
