Who may dwell with God? David noted the character of such as one who. . .
“. . .honors those who fear the LORD; . . .” (Psalm 15:4b ESV)
Our world does not always honor the most honorable. Sometimes those worthy of honor are despised while the intemperate and worldly are given the glory. What marks the focus of our life? Where are we willing to stand when sides are to be chosen?
David here noted the one who acknowledged those of a kindred spirit in the Lord. We do well to note those from whom words of direction, encouragement, and strength should count the most. Do we honor the upright? Do we honor those who walk faithfully with God and hold them up as examples of faith? Are we willing to stand and be numbered with the upright? (note Hebrews 10:33-34)
Our willingness to stand with God now, readies us to stand with Him in eternity. (remember Jesus’ admonition in Matthew 10:32-33) May we continue to stand strong where He wants us. In the end God will bestow the honors on such.
Have a great day STANDING WITH THOSE WHO STAND WITH GOD!
