Who may dwell with God? David noted the character of such as one who . . .
“. . .does no evil to his neighbor, . . .” (Psalm 15:3b ESV)
In the “me first” society in which we live, how much thought do we give to our neighbor? Are we truly a neighbor unto those around us? How much mercy do we extend? (note Luke 10:36-37) How much consideration do we give to the needs and rights of others? Are we seen as a hindrance or can we be depended on as a help in time of need?
Paul exhorted:
“(9) For the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,’ and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (10) Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” (Romans 13:9-10 ESV)
How much benefit has God brought to our life? Are we hoarding His goodness or trying to pass it on to those around us? To withhold good from others can be just as wrong as a direct wrong action. (note Proverbs 3:27-28)
May we be mindful of our neighbor in God glorifying ways, that they may come to know the great benefits God desires to bring to each life!
Have a great day BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOR TO OTHERS!
Carl
