The locust must exert 160 times as much force as it weighs to accomplish such a feat. This is a pound of force that occurs within .02 seconds. The equivalent action would be a 200-pound man exerting 32,000 pounds in one explosive action. The locust can withstand the strain because the muscle-to-bone attachment in the leg of the locust must have the same tensile strength as steel. What a wonderful and complex design by the Grand Designer – Jehovah.
