CLEARING CONGESTION!

April 23, 2023 by Carl Hanson

Like traffic congestion on the roadways, it is possible to also suffer from heart congestion. Congestive heart failure is when the heart is unable to pump away blood returning to it fast enough, therefore creating congestion in the veins. Such is similar to the flow of traffic coming too fast to be processed through intersections and on to other roadways. When confronted with traffic congestion there is the need for some direction to provide help in clearing things up. When there is “spiritual” heart congestion there is the same need; some direction to get life’s flow moving properly again.

During the time of Israel’s leadership under the counsel of Samuel (soon after the death of Eli and his two sons and the return of the ark of the Lord, and also prior to the nation’s request for a king), he exhorted the nation toward a return of faithfulness to God. We read. . .

“(3) And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” (4) So the people of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and they served the Lord only.” (1 Samuel 7:3-4 ESV)

Our heart directed to the wrong things will create congestion and can ultimately lead to heart failure; a hardening, falling away, and being separated from God. Therefore, we need to continually direct our heart to the Lord. We may need to begin by submitting to His hand in clearing from our lives those things that would restrict the flow of our “spiritual” arteries. It could also be that we need to undergo some radical heart surgery.

It is God’s Way and Will that will keep our life flowing along the right road. Maintaining a heart directed by His Word will aid us in moving swiftly through life’s intersections because we will know The Way we ought to go.

Have a great day LIVING A GODLY HEART HEALTHY LIFE!

Our Mission

Truth For Teens was originally a publication with a circulation of over 500 to youth throughout the United States.  This was possible because a group of men and women felt a need to provide healthy, helpful information to our youth as they deal with daily situations.

That need has not changed. The Central church of Christ at Pflugerville, Texas has decided to oversee this continuing, important ministry with this website and publication of a regular newsletter available to all teens around the world. We want the truth of God to be available as the “truth for teens” as well!
