As we noted yesterday, the expression “whatever” is used dismissively and permissively, but also comprehensively. Because of the Lordship of Christ over our life, what marks the comprehensiveness of our faith in the midst of life’s varied circumstances and situations?
In his letter to the church at Philippi, Paul expressed the growth of his faith in stating. . .
“(11) Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. (12) I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. (13) I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11-13 ESV)
Paul acknowledged times of plenty and times of need. His life was marked by ups and downs just like all of us. However, regardless of the situation of the moment or the circumstances in which he found himself, he had learned to push anxiousness aside and find contentment in the Lord from Whom he drew his strength to sustain him comprehensively; in doing all things! Trusting in the Lord’s awareness of all we experience in life and trusting in His power to sustain us and bring us into the eternity He has prepared for us, may we also learn this contentment in the relationship!
Have a great day REFLECTING COMPREHENSIVE CONTENTMENT IN THE LORD!
