When an automotive mechanic gets stumped diagnosing an engine issue, they turn to the vehicle manual for assistance. When an appliance repairman struggles to troubleshoot a problem, they turn to the product manual for help. When a computer system has a programming problem, the technician turns to the programming manual to determine what needs correction. So, when life challenges us, do we give up? Or do we remember the Creator of life has not left us without instructions, but has provided and preserved The Book — His Word — as the manual for moving through life toward the eternal life He has promised?
In his letter to Christians as Rome, Paul exhorted. . .
“(4) For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4 ESV)
Reading with an open heart, God’s Word aids in diagnosing what ails us — the sin that needs to be turned from — as we accept the manner in which God desires us to live. (note the contrast in Galatians 5:19-24) Someone has noted “B-I-B-L-E” as representing “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth”. The Scriptures are for our instruction and encouragement as we move through each day assured of the eternal hope that is ours in Christ. Therefore, may we continue reading God’s “manual” for life as we strive to live in accordance with our Maker’s intended purposes!
Have a great day LIVING LIFE ACCORDING TO OUR MAKER’S MANUAL!
