Sometimes things are said or done in a manner someone responds, “You made a believer out of me.” Whatever that might have been was convincing enough that the reality was seen! Is the conviction of our faith in the reality of God and the eternal hope He offers being made convincingly evident in our life?
It has been stated, “Your life as a Christian should make non believers question their disbelief in God.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
What message or realities regarding God is our life presenting to those around us as we go about our day-to-day lives? Is there something noticeably different in how we go through each day compared to the manner of unbelievers? Or are we seen as being not much different than the world? Being truly convicted by the truth of God and His Will should compel us to live with a consistency that reveals the genuineness of our trust in God to sustain us and ultimately bring us into an eternity with Him?
Paul urged Christians at Philippi to. . .
“(14) Do all things without grumbling or disputing, (15) that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, (16) holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.” (Philippians 2:14-16 ESV)
Jesus noted the potential of our shining as such lights in the world in stating. . .
“(16) In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 ESV)
Convicted by the truth of God, let us shine! Let us live in a manner that unbelief is questioned and God is ultimately glorified!
Have a great day LIVING CONVINCINGLY OF THE TRUTH OF GOD!
Carl
