Though God had promised a son to Abraham and Sarah, as time went on Sarah felt God needed some help. (Genesis 16:2) Though a son was born through her handmaid Hagar, that was not God’s plan. Still there was blessing and though driven away, Hagar was brought back. (Genesis 16:9, 15-16) After being told to return we read. . .
“(13) So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.” (14) Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered.” (Genesis 16:13-14 ESV)
The reality of living in the presence of the “God of seeing” or the God Who sees should provide for us both a sense of comfort as well as accountability. We should find comfort in knowing He does see as we move through the varied circumstances and situations of daily life. (note also Psalm 139:7-12) However, we should also live with a sense of accountability as we acknowledge God knows all about our life as it is fully exposed before He to Whom we will give account. (Hebrews 4:13) As we live our life, we are to duly acknowledge we do count to God, but we are also accountable to Him. May we therefore find comfort in His awareness and conviction for seeking to live in accordance with His Divine Will!
Have a great day BLESSED BY AN AWARENESS OF THE AWARENESS OF GOD!
