The Word is near us. God has made an understanding of His Will available to us. What are we going to do about it?
As Moses exhorted the nation of Israel before Joshua was to take over leadership, he made it clear that a decision needed to be made. He had set before the people a reminder of God’s promises and warnings. It was up to them how they would respond to the truth of God’s Will.
Moses earnestly urged. . .
“(15) See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. (16) If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.” (Deuteronomy 30:15-16 ESV)
Dropping down a few verses we read. . .
“(19) I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, (20) loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20 ESV)
Such is still set before us today. Tomorrow is not the time for decision because we don’t know if the morrow will come. Today is the day of decision because our eternity hangs in the balance pending the choices of today. The choice should be clear. Why should we hesitate? Why should we struggle with the choice? Let us love God with our whole being. Let us walk in His ways. Let us strive diligently to keep His commands. Let us choose life!
Have a great day ALLOWING THE GIVER OF LIFE TO BE YOUR LIFE!
