When we are tempted, how and where we focus is important. Yesterday we noted the need for a look within at our own desires that might give rise to temptation. Today, let us consider our looking ahead.
In the face of temptation, Paul encouraged. . .
“(13) No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV)
Whatever the temptation with which we might struggle, we are not alone. Others have or do struggle with the same things, yet some with greater success at redirection than others. When we have found ourselves giving in, we need to repent (turn from it) and ask for God’s forgiveness. However, at the onset of being tempted, let us trust in God’s provision. Let us sincerely look before us for the pathway God provides to move away from the temptation and utilize that pathway for pressing on. When facing temptation, rather than choosing to give in, let us choose to go forward in the way of escape He provides!
Have a great day SEEKING AND UTILIZING THE GREAT ESCAPE GOD PROVIDES!
