DIVINE DNA!

July 25, 2024 by Carl Hanson

It is sad when there are children who grow up not knowing their father. When the character of that father was not good, perhaps such could be considered a blessing. Still, the lack of commitment and responsibility in relationships does not provide the best stability needed for growing up. Sometimes paternity tests are used to prove relationship, while at other times no one cares to find out. Such is the world in which we live.

It is sad to consider that some would have no desire to acknowledge their parentage. Sadder yet is how this is the case of many spiritually speaking. After noting his ministry given to him by grace in sharing the gospel to the Gentiles, which included those at Ephesus (Ephesians 3:1-13) — Paul stated. . .

“(14) For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, (15) from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, (16) that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (17) so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith — that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, (19) and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:14-19 ESV)

The Greek Paul used which is translated “Father” is “patera” (from “pater”) and the Greek word translated “family” is “patria”. See how closely related these two words are. Paul noted the Heavenly “Father” in relation to the ancestry or “fatherhood” of all humanity. He, as the Creator, is the link for all as far as our ancestry origin. However, many refuse to acknowledge that Divine ancestry. Nevertheless, whether accepted or ignored, the truth of God’s “fatherhood” stands. And it is a blessed parentage. To come to know Him is to understand how lovingly He abides and provides. (i.e. Matthew 7:11; James 1:17; Ephesians 1:3) Blessed to be called His children (John 1:12; 1 John 3:1), may His godly DNA (Genesis 1:27) be reflected in our manner of living!

Have a great day ACKNOWLEDGING AND REFLECTING OUR DIVINE HERITAGE!

Our Mission

Truth For Teens was originally a publication with a circulation of over 500 to youth throughout the United States.  This was possible because a group of men and women felt a need to provide healthy, helpful information to our youth as they deal with daily situations.

That need has not changed. The Central church of Christ at Pflugerville, Texas has decided to oversee this continuing, important ministry with this website and publication of a regular newsletter available to all teens around the world. We want the truth of God to be available as the “truth for teens” as well!
