It has been said, “If you chew your food but don’t swallow you will starve. The same applies to God’s word. If you read it but don’t apply it, you will starve spiritually.”
James exhorted. . .
“(21) Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. (22) But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:21-22 ESV)
Chewing without ingesting and digesting is not a diet, but a means to wasting away until starving to death. Doing so spiritually will also lead to our demise. As Jesus noted His words as being spirit and life (John 6:63), we deceive ourselves if we merely taste, but do not partake and practice.
Remember Jesus told His disciples. . .
“(34) Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.”” (John 4:34 ESV)
Let us study to know the Father’s Will and then put it into practice so that we will have the spiritual health to glorify Him in our daily life!
Have a great day SUSTAINED BY GOD’S SOUL FOOD!
