To feel loved is a blessing that cannot be bought. To be surrounded by love can be a comfort regardless of difficult circumstances. To know that love abides can powerfully compel us to continue moving forward in life. Are we continuing to remain aware of that faithful love of God?
In the 119th psalm we read. . .
“(75) I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. (76) Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.” (Psalm 119:75-76 ESV)
God is faithful. He remains true to His Word! He is fully able to follow through with His promises. The passing of time does not mean He can’t, but rather reveals He knows the best timing in the fulfilling of them. Are we learning to patiently trust the wisdom of His Divine timing? There is nothing that can keep God from fulfilling His Will on our behalf except for us to choose to depart from it. His love is great! His love is pure! It is so powerful there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. (note Romans 8:35-39) Are we finding comfort in that steadfast love?
In his second letter to the church at Thessalonica, as Paul had encouraged them toward standing firm, he went on to state. . .
“(16) Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, (17) comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.” (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 ESV)
The comfort of God’s love is not just for life now, but for eternity. With love being part of His very essence (1 John 4:8) we should understand His love is just as eternal as He is! Trusting in God’s faithfulness, may we continue holding to the loving comfort He offers!
Have a great day COMFORTED IN THE LOVE OF GOD IN CHRIST!
Carl
