I still have a radio with a knob for tuning in stations. Though a station may be found, many times I find myself turning the knob back and forth several times until I hit the spot which sounds the clearest; slowly fine-tuning for that frequency to be hit just right. When tuning my violin, the pegs make it possible to get what sounds to be the proper pitch, but then I have fine-tuners which I use to get the tuning more precisely where it needs to be in order to perform in tune with the symphony.
When it comes to my spiritual life, I may look and sound close to what I ought to be, but do I remain open to the fine-tuning needed?
As Jesus addressed life, He stated. . .
“(43) For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, (44) for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. (45) The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:43-45 ESV)
I must remain open to going to the heart to make certain my life is finely tuned for producing the fruit God desires. Knowing it is from the heart my actions and words arise, I need to strive for my inner essence to remain in tune with God and His Will. By doing so, the symphony of my words and deeds will blend as they ought. May God help me to continue surrendering to my inner self being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16) as I go about the varied activities and encounters of each day.
Have a great day WITH A HEART TUNED FOR SOUND LIVING!
