FIXED HEART!

March 22, 2024 by Carl Hanson

Some people in need of a heart fix go through the procedure of an angioplasty, having stents put in place, undergoing bypass surgery, getting a valve replaced, having a pacemaker implanted, or even receiving a complete heart transplant. While for some the need may be quick fix, for others it is radical heart surgery. When the heart receives the needed fix, the ability to live a healthy life is restored. Then the focus may need to remain centered on maintaining proper diet and exercise to bring the fullness of benefit the fix aimed to provide.

When it comes to a spiritual heart fix, for some that might be a minor change while for others a very radical transformation. However, whatever the fix needed begins by fixing the heart’s focus where it needs to rest!

In a psalm written by David when he was fleeing from Saul, we read. . .

“(7) My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody!” (Psalm 57:7 ESV)

The Hebrew word translated “steadfast” is noted in Strong’s Lexicon as meaning to be firm, be stable, be established, or be fixed. This verse in the King James Version reads, “(7) My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.”

In spite of his life being threatened, David fixed his heart steadfastly in God, trusting Him for deliverance. Rather than a heart racing in fear, His heart was calmed in finding refuge with God. And whenever David did err, he had a heart which always brought him back to God. That is the sign of a heart fixed steadfastly where it needs to be!

It is only in fixing our heart steadfastly on God and His Will that we can be spiritually healthy to live the life God desires us to live. We cannot expect spiritual health unless we surrender our undivided focus to Him and the things relative to His Divine Will. (i.e. Mark 12:30; Matthew 6:33) If our heart is not properly fixed on God, it will not be open to the fixes necessary for living the fullness of the spiritual life He intends for us to live. Whatever the fix our heart needs, may we fix the focus on God to receive the remedy He can provide to enable us to fulfill His desires in and through us!

Have a great day WITH THE FOCUS FIXED ON GOD FOR THE FIXES WE NEED!

Our Mission

Truth For Teens was originally a publication with a circulation of over 500 to youth throughout the United States.  This was possible because a group of men and women felt a need to provide healthy, helpful information to our youth as they deal with daily situations.

That need has not changed. The Central church of Christ at Pflugerville, Texas has decided to oversee this continuing, important ministry with this website and publication of a regular newsletter available to all teens around the world. We want the truth of God to be available as the “truth for teens” as well!
