When people talk about life in terms of “give and take”, it generally refers to concessions or compromises mutually made between persons. However, there is “give and take” in connection with God where there is no concession or compromise, but rather an acceptance and remembrance of what is in relation to Him. As someone has said, “Life is full of give and take. Give thanks and take nothing for granted.”
As one of the psalmists urged. . .
“(1) Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! (2) Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!” (Psalm 105:1-2 ESV)
As we consider all that God has provided both physically and spiritually, thanksgiving ought to be a part of everyday life. Then, not taking those blessings for granted, we should be so compelled by thanksgiving that we cannot help but talk with others about those blessings. We need to help others come to acknowledge God as the source of what has been provided generally to all (i.e. Matthew 5:45) and what more He desires to provide (Romans 5:10; 2 Peter 1:3-4) to those who will turn and surrender to His Will.
Let us never be one to take God’s blessings for granted as we live ever thankful to Him in a manner in which the attention of those around us will be drawn Heavenward! Not compromising God’s Standard and Will for living, may we allow it to comprise the reason behind all we do and say!
Have a great day TAKING TIME TO GIVE THANKS FOR ALL GOD HAS GRANTED!
