Perhaps some of us remember when we had the box of 24 crayons and somewhat envied the classmate who had the box of 48 that included the crayon sharpener. Now I have seen a box of 152 colors advertised. I’m not quite sure what to make of all that since I think I tended to mostly use the 8 basic crayon colors. But, speaking of crayons, someone has noted: “We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors. But they all have to learn to live in the same box.”
Especially as we think about our fellowship and service within the body of Christ (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27), are we doing our part in honoring one another in the various contributions we make to the picture of Christ we together are to portray? God has provided what is necessary to equip us for functioning together in the work of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-14) Are we allowing the Divine Will to fulfill its artistry in making us together the masterpiece God has in mind?
In that letter to Christians at Ephesus, Paul went on to state. . .
“(15) Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, (16) from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” (Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV)
As we abide in the truth of the Will of God, it is by such loving association that the world will see we truly are Jesus’ disciples. (John 13:35) May we continue growing in this love as we continue working together to the glory of the Lord!
Have a great day SURRENDERED TO BEING A BLENDED AND BLESSED PART OF GOD’S PICTURE!
