Is God able to do whatever He wills? Yes! (Matthew 19:26) Can we expect God to always be faithful? Yes! (2 Timothy 2:13) Can God be taken at His Word? Yes! (Proverbs 30:5) Is God able to see His plans through to the end? Yes! (Isaiah 46:10)
Matthew’s Gospel begins with the genealogy of Jesus from Abraham to the Lord’s coming in the flesh for a total of forty-two generations. (Matthew 1:1-17) This clearly reveals the fulfillment of the covenant God made with Abraham (Genesis 17:1-2; Genesis 22:15-18; Galatians 3:8) and thus the truth God keeps His promises. Luke’s Gospel records the genealogy going back not only to Adam, but to God. (Luke 3:23-38) That clearly reveals the Divine plan that existed from even before the beginning of things in this realm. (2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Peter 1:18-21) Yes! What God plans He will fulfill!
As Paul wrote to Christians at Corinth, in noting there was nothing wishy-washy about his plans connected with them, he noted how he strove in his ministry to model the faithfulness of God. (2 Corinthians 1:15-18) Therefore, he went on to encouragingly state. . .
“(19) For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. (20) For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.” (2 Corinthians 1:19-20 ESV)
God is not like the shifting shadows lacking substance in what He has declared, but with Him we can know He will follow through in providing the good and perfect gifts He has promised. (note James 1:17) That means even the things promised before the ages began because He never lies. (Titus 1:2) Just as the Biblical record reveals, God will make things manifest at the proper times. (Galatians 4:4; Titus 1:3) Therefore, as God will remain true to His covenant, may we respond in faithfulness to the covenant relationship we are to have with Him as we fully trust Him for the full salvation provided in Christ. With the promises having their “Yes” in Him, let us continue saying “Yes” to Jesus by walking on in the new life in Him! May we live life as an “Amen” to God because the things of God will be so!
Have a great day LIVING AFFIRMATIVELY FOR JESUS!
