As Jesus noted regarding His disciples (John 17:14-16), we are in the world, but not of it. We are to understand our role in the world as that of being a godly influence. (i.e. Matthew 5:13-16) That necessitates interaction with it. Still, we must remain mindful of our closest associations and the influence of that sphere.
Writing to Christians at Corinth, Paul exhorted. . .
“(33) Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”” (1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV)
As we acknowledge that reality, we should also encouragingly understand the converse: good company enhances good morals or character. As someone has urged, “Surround yourself with those who bring you closer to God.” May we appreciate the great blessing of being in the good company of those who encourage our relationship with God and our work in this world to His glory!
Have a great day INFLUENCED BY THE GOOD TO DO THE GOOD OF GOD!
