There are people who say, “Good God!” as somewhat of a flippant expression. However, it is an expression about God which should be duly noted! After all, though we may choose to use other superlatives in describing God, who is more good than He! (i.e Luke 18:19) Where would we be without His goodness which even provides some blessings quite indiscriminately. (i.e. Matthew 5:45) Are we truly struck by the greatness of His goodness?
In psalm 119 we read. . .
“(68) You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.” (Psalm 119:68 ESV)
God is not flippant about His goodness or His enduring love for which we should continually praise Him and give thanks. (Psalm 106:1) Because of His goodness we can know what to expect from Him. As Jesus noted. . .
“ (11)If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11 ESV)
And James stated. . .
“(17)Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17 ESV)
Yes, God is wholly good and does good for our highest good! May we trust His goodness in all things as we live ever thankful before Him by walking in the way of His good Will!
Have a great day TRUSTING THE GREAT GOODNESS OF GOD!
Carl
