Yesterday we noted that both opinions and truth can be divisive. However, the truth must be sought out and stood upon for our life and hope to rest on a secure foundation leading to our eternal hope. We also considered a quote of which we pondered some thoughts relative to the first part. Today, let us consider the latter part.
We again note: “It is better to be divided by truth than to be united by error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals, than falsehood that comforts and then kills.” (Adrian Rogers)
Solomon stated. . .
“(6) Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.” (Proverbs 27:6 ESV)
Do we understand the blessing noted there? Are we open to it? Rather than being allowed to continue in error by an appearance of love, the one willing to direct us away from sin is a true friend who genuinely loves.
There are many in this world buying into its lies who may at some point turn back to those who had been willing to stand by and speak the truth. Let us not align ourselves with the true enemy that speaks lies rather than the truth. (John 8:44) Let us remain aligned with the Lord and the truth that has the power to set us free from the sin separating us from God.
It is in being drawn into discipleship with Jesus that we find the deliverance we need as noted where we read. . .
“(31) So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, (32) and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”” (John 8:31-32 ESV)
Rather than being taken captive by lies and the instability of various ideologies, human craftiness or deceitful schemes, speaking the truth in love we are enabled to aid in the continued growing up in Christ Who draws us together into unity. (Ephesians 4:14-16) For the sake of both our physical and spiritual health — and that of others — may we remain open to the truth, live the truth, and speak the truth!
Have a great day ACKNOWLEDGING THE HEALING TRUTH WE NEED!
