Facing the reality of clever perverters of the truth and how even our own desires can lead us astray, how can we keep our focus where it ought to be? Jude offered three antidotes to aid in remaining faithful to God.
We read. . .
“(20) But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, (21) keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” (Jude 20-21 ESV)
Whether it be that we are faced with false teachers or wrong passions, these three antidotes mentioned by Jude are key to refraining from being influenced away from the Lord.
First of all, we are to continue building our faith. We are to be diligent in making certain our life is being built up on the truth of Jesus Christ. He must remain the foundation on which our life continues to stand.
Secondly, we are to continue to pray. Prayer is to be a vital part of daily life. The focus is to be kept on God and the need for His guidance. Be encouraged we are not in this alone. May our constant communication with the Father continue.
Thirdly, we are to wait patiently as we press on in life. We are to daily live in expectation of the Lord’s return. That is when we will fully receive that merciful entrance into eternal life. Let us live always prepared for whenever that time will be.
Building our faith, praying, and waiting for the Lord will aid in keeping our focus where it ought to be. May we continue exercising due diligence in these three areas as we live in joyful expectation of the eternity to which our faith in Christ is leading.
Have a great day HOLDING TO HOLY FAITH IN CHRIST!
