There are so many things being pursued in this life. So many varied treasures on which the eye rests and toward which the heart is drawn. What is most precious to us? Consider something that is held within; our thoughts. Do we hold some precious memories; wonderful thoughts associated with our life or the life of people we love? How about holding precious the thoughts of God?
Consider David’s focus where he wrote. . .
“(17) How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! (18) If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.” (Psalm 139:17-18 ESV)
Are the thoughts of God precious to us? Is it what He thinks that matters to us the most? Are we comforted and encouraged by the thoughts and plans of God? Is that where the hope of our life is securely placed?
One very precious thing about God’s thoughts is not only His wisdom provided to direct our life walk, but also His very mindfulness of our individual lives. The One Who is able to discern our every thought (Psalm 139:2) has us on His mind. Oh, how precious a thought that is! Every time I read through this 139th Psalm, I sense the great comfort and peace David experienced in knowing how mindful God was of Him as he knew every aspect of his life was lived in full view of his God.
Remember Jesus’ encouragement when He stated. . .
“(6) Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. (7) Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6-7 ESV)
If God has not forgotten the sparrows, He has not forgotten us! Let us hold the thoughts, the plans, and the wisdom of God for our life very dear to us as a most precious gift. May we also be greatly encouraged by God’s mindfulness of everything going on in our life. All that He has done in His marvelous creation of this world and the providing of eternal salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, has been done with us in mind.
Have a great day KNOWING YOU ARE ALWAYS ON HIS MIND!
