Of all of life’s experiences, perhaps those associated with loving relationships are the most precious. Those we love are held dearly in our heart and mind. Time spent with them is cherished. Then as time goes on, the memories of time shared are also preciously held.
David wrote in view of His relationship with God. . .
“(7) How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. (8) They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. (9) For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.” (Psalm 36:7-9 ESV)
God’s precious steadfast love. It is a love we can count on. It is a love that is unwavering. It is a love in which we can find shelter in life. It is a love that just keeps on giving! In fact, that steadfast love is the motivation behind the provision of every one of God’s gifts.
With regard to God’s ultimate gift on our behalf, Paul declared. . .
“(8) but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 ESV)
What greater love is there than that which was demonstrated through this gift of Jesus (note John 15:13), Who died even for His enemies with the desire that they too would repent and come to believe? Praise God for His steadfast love for us. Praise the Lord for His steadfast love in following through with the plan. May we behold that love as most precious of all loves as we seek to remain in it.
