It has been noted, “The only way to live is to accept each minute as an unrepeatable miracle, which is what it is — a miracle and unrepeatable.” [source: calendar quote]
Sometimes we talk about the “miracle of life” as there is much about it we do not understand. However, in view of God’s Sovereign power as the Creator of the universe and of all life (Genesis 1), let us acknowledge the wisdom in entrusting our life and destiny to His hands. The world in which we live had a beginning (Genesis 1:1) and as time has ticked by since then it has been with God’s desire to be duly acknowledged by humanity and drawn toward Him. (note Acts 17:24-27) In viewing Him as the Divine Creator and the Scriptures as the Divine wisdom for our life, are we developing a greater trust in Him for the days He provides as we look toward the eternity He has in mind for us?
David noted his focus toward God where we read. . .
“(14) But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” (15) My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!” (Psalm 31:14-15 ESV)
Is our trust remaining with God? As the unrepeatable moments of life tick by are we entrusting our times to His hands to be led through them to where He continues to lead? Though the hands of the clock tell us the time, it is in God’s hands we can find security. (i.e. John 10:29) May He remain the One in Whom we trust and so retain a sense of peace even through some of life’s most challenging times; trusting His Sovereign ability to get us from where we are to where He ultimately wants us!
