Taking pictures can leave some interesting and unwanted results. Pictures taken too quickly can leave the image blurred, heads of people might get cut off, or people to either side may end up being left out of the picture. Sometimes a picture reveals that a finger had been over the lens and so what was intended to be captured was obscured. Then there are incidents of “photobombing”; someone sneaks into the scene while a picture is being taken. However, there have also been times when someone has been literally pushed out of the picture right before it was taken. Sometimes siblings have done this to agitate the other or friends may do it just to be funny. What is even worse is when God has been shoved out of life’s picture!
In his letter to Christians at Rome, Paul noted. . .
“(18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. (19) For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. (20) For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:18-20 ESV)
David also wrote. . .
“(1) The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1 ESV)
For some, it is easy to look around and above and see the hand of God behind all that has been made. For others, they just can’t or just won’t see His presence in the picture! Some don’t want God in the picture as they focus life’s lens on themselves and their own desires and pursuits. To them, God and His Will are viewed not as a blessing, but an intrusion; a photobomb! Therefore, any appearance or reference to God is pushed out of the picture in their mind. However, life without God is not a good picture (i.e. Luke 12:21), since to be without God is to be without hope. (Ephesians 2:12)
For the best picture of life, God needs to be kept in it! May we acknowledge that as we live with “our hope set on the living God” (1 Timothy 4:10) with the picture of an eternity with Him kept in view!
Have a great day WITH A FRAME OF MIND KEEPING GOD IN THE FRAME!
