In a message of hope through Isaiah we read. . .
“(18) Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. (19) Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV)
Though there are things of the past to encourage, the exhortation here was to focus forward. God was still able to work on behalf of His people. Hope was not lost. The Great Deliverer was able to deliver still!
May our faith be encouraged by three truths of God. First, His works of the past have not exhausted His power, but He has power to continue working for, in and through us today. (i.e. Ephesians 1:19; 3:20) Secondly, God has continued at His work (i.e. John 5:17) though it is not always seen, so let us not allow what we see to discourage and cause us to lose hope. (i.e. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18) And, thirdly, as God had exercised His great power to lead His people out of Egypt and would again be able to lead His people out of Babylonian exile, He still has the power to make a way for us even where there does not seem to be one. (i.e. John 14:1-6; 1 Corinthians 10:13) May we continue looking ahead to press on in faith to where God is ultimately leading! He has and will provide the way!
Have a great day TRUSTING GOD TO PROVIDE HIS WAY!
