“It’s A Wonderful Life!” is a 1946 classic that is still watched by many each year. Though some aspects of life depicted in this movie may not seem so wonderful, ultimately the blessing and significance of relationships was acknowledged.
Someone has said, “Life is full of wonderful and mysterious events; God wants us to enjoy it to the fullest.” (original source unknown)
Do we believe that? Do we see that? Are we experiencing that despite life’s ups and downs and varied moments? Is there a sense of fullness as we view the goodness of God?
Jesus encouraged. . .
“(10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 ESV)
Have we allowed ourselves to become a victim of “the thief” leading into that which is not the life that is truly life (note 2 Timothy 6:19); life lived with a heavenly focus? Life is not about the accumulation of fortunes (i.e. Luke 12:15) or just making a living but making a life and living it as God would have it! The fullness of life God created us to experience is found in the abiding relationship with Him in Christ Jesus. That doesn’t mean life is without its challenges. That doesn’t mean every life experience is good and wonderful. It is about looking to our good God to ultimately bring about the good from life’s varied experiences in accord with His purposes. (Romans 8:28) May we embrace the fullness of life in Christ to experience the inexpressible joy (1 Peter 1:8) and peace beyond understanding (Philippians 4:7) that can only be found in Him!
Have a great day LIVING THE WONDERFUL LIFE IN CHRIST!
