It has been said, “There is no greater joy in life than the joy of creating something.” (Abhay Kumar)
Perhaps the ones who know this best are those who build with their hands, crochet or knit, or work with clay. Though such workings take patience and time — and there may be things to be reworked along the way — there is often great joy in viewing the finished work. That joy may also be enhanced in how the things made are received by those to whom they might be given. However, joy diminishes when what is made does not look or work as intended.
In the psalms we read. . .
“(31) May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works,” (Psalm 104:31 ESV)
The New Living Translation reads, “(31) May the glory of the Lord continue forever! The Lord takes pleasure in all he has made!”
In the Creation, all that God made He called good (Genesis 1), and it was. Looking at the Creation in which He has placed us to live and the vast universe around us is all beautiful to behold. However, let us remember we too are a work of God; His workmanship created to serve His purposes. In his letter to Christians at Ephesus, Paul noted this in stating. . .
“(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 ESV)
Acknowledging God as our Creator, are we duly surrendering to His Will to be a work in which He rejoices? Let us not be like others who have rebelled against Him and chosen their own way and thus grieved Him. (i.e. Isaiah 63:10; also note Ephesians 4:30) May we grow in finding our greatest joy in serving the purposes for which God has given us life and therefore glorify Him and so bring Him joy!
Have a great day SURRENDERED TO LIVING TO PLEASE OUR CREATOR!
Carl
