People keep some things to themselves because they do not wish to share that information with others. Then there are things people keep for themselves because they do not want to share those items with anyone. Perhaps we would consider the first individuals as being very private and the second as being very stingy. Do we find that troubling? However, there is that which when kept can keep us out of trouble.
In Proverbs we read. . .
“(23) Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.” (Proverbs 21:23 ESV)
For sure! For certain! Such is not being selfish since in being kept there is not only benefit for self, but also for others. May we keep the tongue and keep from trouble!
