To strategize is to plan or put in place a course of action with a specific end or goal in mind. Sometimes goals are approached with an attitude that the ends justify the means; that it doesn’t matter what is done so long as the goal is met. However, it has been noted that the end does not justify the meanness. Still, even kindness can be strategically exercised with the goal of getting on the good side of others merely to benefit self.
When we strategize only thinking of what is in it for ourselves, we will likely not give due consideration to the impact our plan’s pathway might have on others. Are we developing a character mindful of not only what benefits ourselves but others as well? (i.e. Philippians 2:4)
Someone has said, “Thank goodness for people whose kindness isn’t a strategy but rather a way of life.” (original source unknown)
What marks our character will make a difference in the manner in which we go about our life pursuits. Is kindness a core element of our being? It ought to be closely associated with our life since it is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and to be a part of our spiritual adorning. (Colossians 3:12)
Solomon wrote. . .
“(21) Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.” (Proverbs 21:21 ESV)
And Paul urged. . .
“(32) Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 ESV)
As we follow Christ, let us be the kind of people who are kind. Having been recipients of the blessing of the goodness and loving kindness of God as demonstrated through Christ (Titus 3:4-5), may we keep self out of the way so that kindness will be our way of living!
Have a great day BEING A PERSON OF THE KIND KIND!
