Who has taught you to love? Human teaching? Sometimes that misses the mark. (i.e. Matthew 5:43) Sometimes human teaching draws toward loving the glory or praise of other humans more than what comes from God. (John 12:43) And sometimes human teaching turns God’s Will upside down. (i.e. Isaiah 5:20-21) We have been called to a higher focus than merely human teaching or relying on our own wisdom. (Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 55:8-9; 1 Corinthians 1:25)
Jesus stated. . .
“(15) If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15 ESV)
Who and what we love most will determine how we live our life. Who or what is the source of our life instruction? To love Jesus is to follow His teaching and walk in His steps which will include loving as He loved. May our life reflect our genuine love for Him as we are duly compelled to live in accordance with His example and teaching!
