Who has taught you to love? Have we begun learning love from the One Who is Himself love? (1 John 4:8) Are we learning to love from the One Who first loved us? (1 John 4:19)
In his letter to Christians at Thessalonica, Paul encouragingly wrote. . .
“(9) Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, (10) for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more,” (1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 ESV)
Oh, yes, they had learned from the Best! Still, Paul urged these Christians to continue growing in loving in such a manner. Remember, while we were still sinners, God demonstrated His love for us by sending His Son to die on our behalf. (Romans 5:8) He provided for our need rather than leaving us to receive what we deserved. (i.e. Psalm 103:10-12) Are we learning that love? God’s love has drawn Him to provide some life blessings indiscriminately. (Matthew 5:45) Are we learning that love? To love God means we are to love one another. (1 John 4:20-21) Are we learning to love in such a consistent manner? It is by loving one another in the way we have been called to love that we show (demonstrate, prove, reveal) we truly are the Lord’s disciples. (John 13:35) May our life reflect it is truly from God we have learned the true essence of loving!
Have a great day LEARNING TO LOVE GOD’S WAY!
