Lending takes on various forms. We can lend someone our ear by being attentive to what they have to say and thus encourage them as we show genuine interest in what is going on in their life. We can lend someone money and reveal a willingness to share what we have when it is needed. We can also lend a hand and encourage others they are not alone in doing tasks needing to be fulfilled. Perhaps we would rightly acknowledge such as being acts of kindness toward others. Someone has even noted that “Kindness has been defined as loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weakness.” Is our life being marked by such kindness?
In his letter to the church at Ephesus, Paul urged. . .
“(32) Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 ESV)
Having been the recipients of such kindness from God through Christ (i.e. Romans 2:4; Titus 3:4-7) ought to compel the same spirit toward others. To consider such as “lending kindness” is because when we are that way, it will tend to return to us; especially as our ongoing blessing from God. Therefore, may this spirit of godly kindness continue to exude from our life!
Have a great day EXTENDING KINDNESS OF A GODLY KIND!
