There are times when we may feel gripped with a sense of anxiousness. Though we trust in God and believe in His power and promises, we still find ourselves fearing the unknowns of life in this realm. As we acknowledge there will be challenges and trials we will not be spared, are we embracing God’s ability to bring us through them. Is this something in which we are growing?
Someone has said, “Worry is useless, senseless and worthless — other than that, it’s great.”
What’s great about it? Only that it can greatly impact our focus to dampen our joy and greatly impede our forward motion.
Remember Jesus asked. . .
“(27) And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:27 ESV)
Anxiousness — and fear that can arise from it — does not add to our life but takes away from it. And though we may not find ourselves being fearless, are we growing in a faith helping us to fear less? As Jesus addressed the subject, He directed the focus to rest squarely on the Heavenly Father’s mindfulness of all within this realm. (Matthew 6:25-34) Are we growing in trusting Him as we move through each day He provides?
Peter encouraged his readers going through trying times. . .
“(6) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, (7) casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV)
As we acknowledge we are living under the loving awareness of God, let us grow in faith to continue fearing less! May we learn to leave life’s anxieties with the caring Creator and Sustainer of life!
Have a great day GROWING IN FAITH TO FEAR LESS!
