Whether it be crocheting, knitting, or by use of a loom, the work being done with yarns of various colors coming together in patterns and pictures is magical to my eyes. Beginning with strands of yarn to bring to completion a hat, scarf, sweater, blanket, rug, or some other masterpiece is an amazing work by hands skilled in doing so. And I love that I know people who have won blue ribbons for such handiwork. It is truly something to duly appreciate. And those who wear or put those masterpieces to use generally do so with great gratitude for the maker.
Still, there is even greater handiwork for which we should hold due appreciation and demonstrate our appreciation by the manner in which we live. As David viewed his life being lived in the full awareness of God, he declared. . .
“(13) For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. (14) I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (15) My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. (16) Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalm 139:13-16 ESV)
This is us. We have a Divine Maker! We did not emerge from some primordial ooze or slime. We are not simply some cosmic accident. We are not merely the product of chance. The intricate design of every facet of our body and system of blood vessels and nerves and working organs reveals we have a Creator! Just as we would certainly admit the yarn did not just form itself into the marvelous and useful item it became, so it is with our own being. We are most certainly fearfully and wonderfully made. Let us therefore duly worship and honor our Maker for how He designed us and for His continuing work of transformation in Christ! May we strive to honor our Creator by living according to the purpose for which we were designed, even before any of our days came to be!
Have a great day BEING THE BEING GOD DESTINED US TO BE!
