“Me time.” That is generally a reference to taking a break from taking care of others and taking time out to do what “me” wants. It is time to do what one personally wants to do, without any other obligations or distractions. Having some “me time” can be therapeutic. Having some time for self can be a good thing. However, time also needs to be considered wisely between what it is to God and what it is to us.
Consider two thoughts from psalm 90 which read. . .
“(1) Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. (2) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. (3) You return man to dust and say, “Return, O children of man!” (4) For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night.” (Psalm 90:1-4 ESV)
. . . and . . .
“(12) So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12 ESV)
For God, the days are not numbered as we would number them. (also 2 Peter 3:8) Time is not a concept to Him as it is to us. God’s existence is marked by eternity — “from everlasting to everlasting” — while our life is marked by the daily doses in which He provides it. The days of our life in this realm span a period noted as being here to soon fly away (Psalm 90:10) with God’s existence as here to stay! However, linked to His eternal existence is our hope of eternal life promised before the ages began. (Titus 1:2) Therefore, with His eternity in mind, may we consider the manner in which we number our days; living them appreciatively and wisely in His sight!
Have a great day KEEPING OUR “ME TIME” IN THE FRAME OF GOD’S TIME!
