It has been noted, “Unlike the brain, the stomach alerts you when it’s empty.” (noted as an African proverb)
Though we understand eating at regular intervals is good for the body and that our stomach will give notice when that is not being done, we must be purposely mindful of the mind. How many are running on empty and don’t realize it? Or how many are not healthy in thought because of junk being focused on and consumed.
In his letter to Christians at Philippi, Paul urged. . .
“(8) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (9) What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me — practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:8-9 ESV)
As we would do well physically to be intentional in how we eat, so it is true spiritually. Remaining mindful of how and with what we are filling our mind, these eight categories are significant. If we are thinking on things such as these, our mind will be filled to compel healthy living to the glory of God. May we be so filled to nourish our soul and energize godly living!
Have a great day NUTRITIOUSLY FEEDING THE FOCUS!
